Located in the region of Lancashire, the independently owned family business operates from a purpose built, modern plant. The chickens are processed on a “just in time” basis. This ensures customers receive only the freshest product. The processing plant is a manufacturing centre of excellence. A BRC AA grade is currently held and is regularly audited by industry bodies such as Red Tractor.
The Challenge

Processing over one million birds each week, the business soon came to the realisation that it required additional blast freezing facilities on site. With increased demands on production the company needed to work faster and more efficiently. The blast freezing facilities needed to accommodate this ethos. AHR was called upon to help with the cold storage for their meat production.
The Solution
The specialist team at AHR specifically designed and installed a bespoke 40ft blast freezer unit holding over 22 pallets situated adjacent to the factory. The blast freezer allowed the halal specialist to cut and dice chicken with greater precision and in a faster time – enhancing productivity whilst also providing savings on costs and time.
